Horizontal Scrolling arrows missing

The arrows at the foot of my spreadsheet's are missing which prevents me from viewing many columns. Have I inadvertently changed a setting which has caused this problem?

I have a spreadsheet using 32 rows and 4 columns. All cells show a monetary value in Pounds. Columns A,B and C record my investment accounts and column D show the sum of columns A,B and C.
