Thanks for the hint - this actually did work. I can now launch all SoftMaker Office apps.

I don't remember whether I have been asked for granting those permissions when I started the apps the first time after installation. Anyway, everything looks fine now!

Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately that didn't help.

I renamed the "SoftMaker" folder and started TextMaker. It terminated with the same error message and left a new "SoftMaker" folder with an empty subfolder named "Settings" in the file system.

What next?

"Unable to initialize main window"

This is the error message I get when trying to launch any of the 2021 Office Suite applications.

I'm on a MacBook Pro M2 Max with Ventura 13.2.1. I reinstalled the suite 10 minutes ago; but that didn't help.

What can I do?

Thanks for getting back to me. The option "Show invisible objects" is unchecked .

Maybe I should have mentioned that this is a "Mailings" document, populated with data from PlanMaker. The image is static though and located in the header section of the document.

The original Template was imported ...

When I open a document containing an image
and then I make this image invisible and unprintable by unchecking "Picture Properties..." -> "Properties" -> "Options" -> "Visible" and "Printable"
then the image becomes invisible in the document.

When I then save and close the document
and then I reopen ...

I have a numeric database field for which I want to invert the sign via "Mailings" => "Field" => "Calculation". The field is definitely numeric as a formula like
ABS(fieldname)
works absolutely fine. So I'm trying to invert the sign of fieldname; but all my attempts:
- fieldname
fieldname * -1 ...
