I'm unable to remove user colors once added

There is no button or preference to remove user-defined colors from the workbook document. See Properties: Colors: Color Palette. I can add or change a user-defined color, but once that color has been added, there is no delete button to remove it from the workbook. Worse still, If I copy a worksheet...
