After re-installing to my upgraded deb OS, I noticed that the Softmaker folder in Home, from the previous OS install, was 3.5gb in size! I opened it and found seemingly all my files (not just Softmaker ones) like videos, miscellaneous images etc.
Any ideas? Surely Softmaker is not spyware.

A pity about no video tutorials in English, though turning the volume off you might follow what's going on in the German ones a little! I did look on their website and didn't see any mention of tutorials - I used DeepL, a far better translator, for my search enquiry. There is a manual pdf in English...

I don't know exactly what I did to fix it, but I've opened Options>User interface size (while on external large screen) and changed font size. I don't think I changed anything else, but it looks to be fixed now.

I am starting to use TM2021 and it seems generally very good, but one bug has arisen. Initially using it on my laptop i could open Options window and it fit the height of the screen, I could select from the headings ok. Then I opened TM on an external large monitor and could use the enlarged Options...
