Weird folder containing all folders and files on my Desktop
A weird folder has appeared on my Windows 10 Desktop containing (duplicating?) all folders and files on my Desktop. If I delete a folder or file within this weird folder, the same folder and file also disappears from my Desktop. So should I delete this weird folder by accident, the whole Desktop wit...

Re: (Abandon all hope?) Seeking multi-lingual thesaurus online.
Euroglot offers parallel synonyms. For instance, if you look up the English word "huge", you see the synonyms of "huge" in English and -- if you bought the German component -- the word "huge" translated into German plus its synonyms available in German. To a translator ...

(Abandon all hope?) Seeking multi-lingual thesaurus online.
The thesaurus / synonyms facility in Textmaker 2021 works quite well, for the limited number of languages supported. If you need more writing enrichment information of this nature, you could buy Euroglot, an excellent, highly recommended, but rather pricey translating / thesaurus program focused on ...

Re: Can you retrieve (open) Textmaker files saved at a Cloud storage site when you are working offline?
Thanks for the information. I confirm that If I go offline the text- and other files in "Box Drive" (and in all other, available Cloud "drives") can indeed be opened and edited as if I am dealing with normal offline folders. Somehow these files remain available without connection...

Can you retrieve (open) Textmaker files saved at a Cloud storage site when you are working offline?
I went offline and tried to retrieve (open) files saved with Textmaker at various Cloud storage sites. To my surprise, I could in most cases open the text files (e.g. .docx files). This is important because saving files in the Cloud might mean that you can't open and work on them offline, unless you...

Third solution -- Sign up to pCloud & install pCloud Drive
You can add other Cloud "drives" or "Cloud folders" if you want as much free Cloud storage as possible, or want to try out different Cloud storage sites. I have added pCloud to my list. You have to sign up to pCloud and also download and install the pCloud Drive to make it work. ...

Second solution -- Use Box.com and Box Drive app
The Cloud Storage site Box.com can be used in the same way. Sign up to Box.com . Also install Box Drive at https://www.box.com/resources/downloads . You should now be able to "save to" your folders at Box.com or retrieve your files from Box.com using Softmaker Office programs. See the pict...

First solution: save to OneDrive while working with a Softmaker Office program
Thanks SuperTech but I seem to have found a solution. If you have OneDrive up and going on your Windows 10 computer, you can open, edit and save files directly to OneDrive while using Softmaker Office programs such as Textmaker. You don't need MS Office to utilize OneDrive Cloud file storage. SAVE F...

Softmaker hushed in evaluations of MS Office competitors
Out of pure curiosity I recently read some articles on the internet about the current competitors of MS Office. Even respected computer magazines published online seem to hush and ignore Softmaker. I was surprised to see that for instance WordPerfect is mentioned as a worthy challenger -- but often ...

Solution expanded -- How to open, edit & save files stored in the Cloud, while working with Softmaker
I would like to use a cloud storage site where I store and if possible create, open, edit and save new files I am working on while using Softmaker Office . Which online storage site(s) or "drives" can be made to behave almost like a regular offline folder, when using Softmaker ? How do I o...

Re: How do I make Softmaker's user forum "remember" a new password?
I tried using Edge Browser. I then logged into Softmaker User Forum using the new password. This worked. I was asked by Edge if I wanted to save the new password. I confirmed, and then the new password was finally successfully "remembered" by Softmaker. Next, I uninstalled and then reinsta...

(Solved) How do I make Softmaker's user forum "remember" a new password?
I received a new password by email. It works but it is not "remembered". I have to enter it every time I want to enter the forum.

Solved: What happened to Thunderbird?
The first thing I did when I bought Softmaker 2016 and later Softmaker 2018, was to uninstall Thunderbird. I had no desire to use this email "client" -- if this is what email service providers are called. Thunderbird probably made it possible to send email directly from Softmaker. Now that...
