Re: Equation Editor, and Mathematical Formulas in Linux Version of Softmaker (or Freemaker) ... is ever going to happen?

More Motivation. When I was a “professional Software-Developer” (“They” called me that), I made a lot of money (fast) by developing the same software, practically all the time, which has – in diverse incarnations – existed already for 20 or 30 years. That was neither Equation-Editors nor Automation ...

Re: Equation Editor, and Mathematical Formulas in Linux Version of Softmaker (or Freemaker) ... is ever going to happen?

Good morning. I can understand the demand for integrated software which would then cooperate with the main program. But PSE consider that there are specific tools for specific tasks, which has many advantages that I should not need to list here (we can do that, if you must know). As you have mention...

Re: [IGNORE Solved in 2021] TextMaker still misinterprets white-space between tags.

@SuperTech and all. I have tried for half an hour, to reproduce the behavior which I had originally described in the German speaking forum AND CAN NO MORE. Ergo. It looks like The original bug is either corrected or cannot be reproduced - which may be the same thing. My example-files in the OP are c...

[IGNORE Solved in 2021] TextMaker still misinterprets white-space between tags.

I like the 2021 version of SoftMaker Office. This is the test-version S1014.0529. Of course, I am looking into the bugs which I had reported for Office 2018. In the attachments, you find two ODT files, one of which differs in the formatting of content.xml . The result is a false alignment in TextMak...

Re: [Install/Update] Updating desktop themes

We just call a system script to update the icons and refresh the icon cache. This script takes however long it takes. Okay. In this case I have to discuss the issue with other Linux users and experts to see, why there is a difference from installing other packages, native or other. It is evident th...

[Install/Update] Updating desktop themes

Why does updating desktop themes take such an enormous time during updates of the Office-suite? Especially when “adding icons” appears to be the only action performed. During an ordinary update (apt update && apt upgrade), SoftMaker Office is the only package which brings the procedure to a ...

Re: Automatic folder creation

You cannot avoid that the Settings-Folder be located in ~/SoftMaker and you cannot make the office-suite look for settings somewhere else Now, what you can do depends a little on the purpose. If you need the Settings-folder in a different place, because *other* software, scripts and the like must us...

Re: Dead key support

@miguel-c Could there be a list of cases that ask for the activation/deactivation of XIM? I still do not know what it does, what it is, and why I am using it, sometimes and sometimes not. And sometimes, when things do not work as expected, it is because I have not activated XIM, sometimes this is no...

Re: Dead key support

What am i doing wrong in Textmaker? Somehow dead keys are not working. I run Textmaker in the Dutch language on Ubuntu 18.04. Everywhere else dead keys are working (i.e. ë by pressing " +e). Good evening. While I do not believe that you are doing anything wrong, the problem does however not co...

Re: Repo update issue

I'm not clear if just downloading another version of the public key will solve the issue and I haven't found anything online addressing it. Suggestions/recommendations? You did not say much about how you set up your package management system. In consequence, and even if you know it already, I recom...

ANSWER: [XML Scripting] sharedStrings indices instead of content

Answer: Comparing cell-content to given values is better done by extracting strings from sharedStrings.xml first. Number formats are recognized by the 't' attribute (probably for 'type') of a cell-tag. What confuses me is the fact that there is not always a 't' attribute. I will check this with the...

Q: [XML Scripting] sharedStrings indices instead of content

Edit 12/12/2019. Attached find a zip-file with the full program code of a spreadsheet-manipulating Ruby-library in development and two executable files as technology-demonstrators. Documentation is in the sub-directory doc. For the executables to run and the library to be functional, three Ruby-gem...

Re: Feature request - add the ability to search inside .tmdx files to the file manager

Edits 21/10/2019 : Call grep with -n -T for line-numbers. And here is a script which works even where the installed version of grep is too new and does no longer support the '-r' option. It uses html-tidy to beautify the xml-code and searches for text inside paragraph-tags (w:t). This is more an ex...
