It's all about word "shape". Not every font gives that. Serif fonts allow confusion between words because the serif flows into adjoining letters. Some non serif fonts are square shaped. These allow confusion too. Comic sans is rounded and has unique letter shape. Reading is about shape and...

Educationalists agree that Comic Sans is amongst the easiest to read. Maybe for grade school kids. For any serious purpose, Comic Sans is a bad joke. We will have to agree to disagree on this. I agree that you can't please all.
However, non Serif fonts are easier to read than serifs.
Educationalists agree that Comic Sans is amongst the easiest to read.

Went to do the update by opening Textmaker. It told me to close Textmaker which I did. Updating proceeded Then a message to close Presentations appeared. I did not have this app open. Just a polite question. Not a loaded one. But why is the default "on" rather than "off"?. Why not let the user choose?

I agree with this observation
If you click with mouse onto the word or phrase .... the whole word is highlighted.
Same happens with any attempts with graphics pen

No auto update was offered.
Checked manually for update availability and was then offered it
On re opening Textmaker it informed me that updating had been applied
No message appeared on the other apps as opened but the update had been applied

Yes I've noticed that many "choices" or "options" lists by default have most tick boxes checked. I agree. Not a good Idea.
