Reinstalling does not solve this.
And as I said, ~30 other apps have installed correctly, w/o any mishap, some pretty big like Vivaldi browser. So I think this is a problem of your apps and not the tablet.

Re: System Error: Resources Not found or invalid
Install was on internal storage.
There is no SoftMaker folder and I think this is part of the problem... perhaps some permission thing (I did give both apps the storage access permission they require, so that can't be the reason). On other devices where I installed I do have this folder.

Re: System Error: Resources Not found or invalid
Acer ACTAB1022, Android 11, 3GB RAM, 32GB flash (of which 26GB is free). I've now installed and tested some more apps I regularly use and so far, everything else works as expected. There's apparently a post on another Softmaker forum for a previous version with that problem, see https://forum.softma...

System Error: Resources Not found or invalid
Latest versions of Text and Planmaker from G PS, both installed OK on an Android 11 device but after starting (and granting the two permissions asked for) I just get an error about missing resources and setting SMPATH variable and that's it. What is this? I've installed both apps on a couple of othe...

Re: .csv export
Sorry for the delay, was away from keyboards for a while. As to a "sample file", just start planmaker with an empty file, add "test" (w/o the quotes) in A1 and a "test, test" (again, no quotes) in B1 and export this "spreadsheet" as .csv as described in my OP. ...

.csv export
I am exporting a spreadsheet as a .csv file. Options used are the default, with the exception of the character set where I use UTF-8 w/o BOM. I'm then feeding the .csv to another programme with the view to create a .vcf file. This works... mostly. Problem is that some fields in the original spreadsh...

Re: Activation/Re-activation is borked
This is beginning to get ridiculous. My starting point is a PC with an activated FO2021. /etc/SoftMaker/offree2021.lic has 1688 bytes. This version runs with all SSDs and USB sticks I throw at it but it does not run with that single 256GB SSD drive . Instead it wants to re-activate. So I follow @mar...

Re: Activation/Re-activation is borked
Yes, it is. That file is world readable before I insert the drive and it is still world readable after inserting the drive. I have also checked its md5 checksum before and after, it doesn't change. When the drive is inserted, planmaker just does its waiting game (for a minute or so, then there's a &...

Re: At least strange, at worst fishy
Ah, so it's the fault of my system or OS... which strangely runs every other application I've ever thrown at it w/o problems (including Freeoffice 2018 whose license file lives in the very same directory and is not touched at all). But even if my system would somehow on every reboot zero out that fi...

Re: At least strange, at worst fishy
Hm... no word from SoftMaker, even after more than a week. So I assume that this is sitting more at the fishy end of things. Anyway, as I can't get FreeOffice2021 to run (or rather, to activate) in a reliable fashion and since textmaker 2021 has lost the capability to export to epub, it's back to tr...

Activation/Re-activation is borked
As I wrote in another thread here, the activation process for FO2021 is broken. If SoftMaker think they need such a measure then they should make it easy and RELIABLE. I have described some of the problems I had in the other thread which SoftMaker so far has chosen to ignore. Anyway, on my Linux ins...

At least strange, at worst fishy
I am having real trouble getting the FreeOffice2021 version of planmaker to run. Whenever I start planmaker after a fresh (re-)boot, it wants to re-activate itself with the SoftMaker website though I have already done that before. So I went through that a couple of times but this is clearly not goin...

Re: Changelog?
For those who are interested in this, here's one pretty significant difference I've just discovered: the older version of TextMaker (2018) can save a file as an ePub whereas the 2021 version can't. That's precisely the sort of thing I meant in my OP. And there may be other similar oopsies  So w...

Re: Changelog?
Partly answering my own questions, it seems the Android apps (though free) need an in-app payment to print stuff and perhaps for other things as well. That's fine by me but I still think it's strange that an app that's touted as "FREE" in the end is not necessarily free. But that's probabl...
