Re: Convert numbers stored as text to numbers

Hello, I'm using data tables extracted from the Statistics Canada website. The download format is in CSV. I can import the files in Planmaker. The data tables contained in the files appear as a normal spreadsheet data (one number in each cell). The columns of numbers displayed look OK but the numbe...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

In TextMaker Shift+Enter does not create paragraphs but inserts a line break in a paragraph. It should not be used generally as a replacement for Return, since (a) paragraphs are limited to around 65000 characters and (b) if you ever apply paragraph formatting, you will apply it to the whole docume...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

To close the circle on this, although the search and replace solution worked well enough (although I couldn't use replace all since I do often use blank lines between sections), I found an undocumented solution on the ReMarkable itself. It turns out there is a short cut (which in fact Textmaker also...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

No coding necessary. Learn to use paragraph styles, and use "Paste Special > Unformatted Text" rather than "Paste." Spare me the useless condescension and I'll spare you a lecture on properly reading my previous post where I clearly stated that pasting "Unformatted text&quo...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

Re search and replace: Go to Edit > Replace... In the dialog box, click Special > Paragraph mark twice for the search field and once for the Replace field. Click "Replace all" and there you are. I think this is easier than using an additional text editor. Thank you, that works very nicely...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

But you can just use find and replace to search for all instances of two consecutive line breaks, and replace with a single line break. I can't figure out how to get search and replace to do that, but it probably doesn't matter. It's probably just as easy to paste into a text editor first, which ig...

Re: Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

Hi, Woody, thanks for the replies. Yes, there is a paragraph symbol at the front of the blank lines. So, the Remarkable is essentially coding enter as CR/LF. I agree, completely unnecessarily. I have made a request that they provide a way to change that. Unfortunately, Textmaker doesn't act like a t...

Eliminating Blank Lines Between Paragraphs

Is there any way to do this? I have an editor on a non-standard device that puts a blank line between paragraphs and has no option for the user to change that. If I paste the text into a plain text editor, it ignores the blank lines and then I can copy and past it into Textmaker. But Textmaker leave...

I appreciate that, but making a system wide change to Windows (and Linux) is not a solution to a simple skinning request. :) But thank you... I didn't mean to be rude,

Re: Suggestion: UI variation

Why don't you set the window title bar color in the Windows Control Panel to a more appealing color than gray and white? This would affect most Windows applications, not just SoftMaker Office. If this is your way of saying "no," okay, no big deal. It just seems like you have three skins f...

Re: Suggestion: UI variation

I have to disagree. Note to SoftMaker: The classic menus are PERFECT. Here is the United States we have a saying: 'If it ain't broke -- don't fix it." Woody, I think you are misunderstanding what I am asking for. I use and love classic menus as well. I'm not asking for changes to actual UI met...

Re: Suggestion: UI variation

Just bumping this. I know you said you sent it to developers. I'm just hoping that creating the skin where Textmker is framed in red and Planmaker is framed in Green, like the ribbon skins, is not really that hard to do for the button UIs. I want the classic menus, but the dark skin is too ugly and ...

Feature Request: Option to use file type default for Save As

I raised this during the Beta, but I want to raise it again. It applies across all Softmaker Office programs, but Planmaker is where I run into this so I'm posting here. It used to be, with SMO 2021, that when I went to "Save As" it would offer my default file format which I had selected. ...

Re: New dark mode

I don't understand how anyone can work in dark mode. It's one thing to offer a subdued background for the menus and toolbars, but the actual work area should be white (or nearly white). I'm old enough to have started out in personal computing with an IBM PC with the original 12-inch monochrome scre...
